Local Backup/Restore
This feature allows you to configure
your backups to store a copy of your data being sent to Data Vault’s secure
storage facility can also be stored on your local network via DVC Gateway, NAS or local drive. This allows for fast restores, even of large
data stores such as mail or database servers, which are
initiated immediately (no waiting for tapes to be delivered)
and occur at LAN speeds.
– even if you're using
WAN technologies such as DSL or cable.
Data Vault stores a copy of all backed up data with the
DVC Gateway/Local Storage at the customer site in addition to storing the data
at the
Data Center. The DVC Gateway is sized to allow for a copy of all customer data
to be stored locally. This allows large volumes of data (e.g. a 50 GB Exchange
store) to be restored very quickly at LAN speeds. The DVC Gateway even contains
a second 1GB Ethernet to allow for a “restore” network to be established to
allow the restore to take place without impacting your production LAN.
