Is my data encrypted as it travels over the Internet?
Yes. All data is encrypted before it leaves your computer, only you have
the key.
What do I do if I lose my encryption password?
Lost passwords cannot be recovered. They are NEVER transmitted to our
servers. We have NO WAY of getting them back. Data Vault recommends
keeping multiple copies of your encryption password(s) in safe, secured
remote locations.
What type of encryption is used?
All files are encrypted using 128 bit DES, 192 bit Triple-DES or 448 bit Blowfish encryption which is selected by the user with their own personal encryption code which is only known by the user of the system.
What is encryption?
Encryption is basically a mathematical formula that scrambles a data file. And the only way to unscramble it is with the encryption code.
